I came across this picture that I had taken last year of a home made agility ladder that I made in my basement. While I was interning, I sucked so bad at all the ladder drills. I was so embarrassed I went home at night and made this ladder out of clear tape and string so I could practice alone.
I spent a while getting frustrated and swearing at myself until I finally got the drills down.
Just because you’re an athlete doesn’t mean every drill comes easy.
I thought it would be funny to share this with everyone because there’s plenty of people that feel too embarrassed or like they are not good enough to succeed at things. Especially when it comes to working out, some people have no clue what they are doing and are so terrified that they don’t even step foot into a gym because of the fear of embarrassment.
Whether it’s a silly ladder drill, joining a gym and training or even something irrelevant like cooking.
Many times we find ourselves expecting to be better at things than we actually are. Then, we get frustrated. It’s OKAY! Not every chef can bake. No one becomes good at things without trial and error.
PRACTICE what you suck at and PRACTICE what you are already good at as well. Don’t get discouraged. Stay patient and you will only see improvements!
