Segmental Wall Curl

You should. Unfortunately, I find a lot of people who come to us suffering from chronic low back stiffness cannot.
⠀⠀
In a perfect world, each individual segment of our spine should be able to move and cumulatively they should give us full expression of flexion and extension. However due to injury or chronic compensatory strategies many of us lose the ability to move freely through segments of our spine, leading to stiffness and hyper-mobility in other areas as compensation.

Using the Wall Curl we want to train the client to feel the wall and actively push into it to promote segmental spinal flexion. The wall provides a valuable kinesthetic cue to provide feedback to the athlete. We want to see that they can roll and unroll from the wall with no gaps in contact.
