Deadlifting/Hinge Practice

Deadlifting/Hinge Practice

Using a Keiser or band assisted low intensity deadlift is great practice for people who have already grasped the movement, or to help some beginners learn. I like using the Keiser where available more than the band, because the resistance is constant. However, if a band is your most logistical tool, use that.

The Keiser is great to help create a posterior weight shift, it also gives great anterior feedback, as a reminder to finish your hips hard through the belt/band.

Some good places to program this movement practice are:

  • Consistent deadlifters on a recovery or low intensity day
  • A beginner needing some posterior weight shift practice
  • In a clinical setting, post toe touch progressions
