Everyday at least one person asks @kev_in_carr or myself what they should on their “off days”. We always like to promote “active rest” on non-training days. We encourage people to spend a few minutes doing some breathing, soft tissue work, active and passive stretching, and this easy joint mobility circuit. Scar tissue develops at night while we sleep, which contributes to why people often feel stiff and have cracking in the AM. We encourage people to move all their joints, as often as possible. As we learned from @drandreospina cellular tissue will only turn over based on the demands we stress on them. So we encourage people to demand stress everyday. Top Left- 1/2 kneeling active ankle dorsiflexion Middle Left- CARS for the hip Bottom Left- CARS for the shoulder (follow the natural movement for the joint, flexion/external rotation, extension/internal rotation) Right- Standing cervical rotations with teeth closed (closed, not clenched) and relaxed shoulders. The reason the cervical video is so big is in order to send the message on the tee shirt: “Free training for life for Judge Berman” @movementasmedicine and @bodybyboyle we are big fans of @patriots and we’re happy to see Judge Berman made the right decision. He’s welcome anytime. #tb12 @collectmomentsnotthingz @perform_better A video posted by Movement As Medicine (@movementasmedicine) on Sep 3, 2015 at 3:14pm PDT
