The Importance of Having A System in Fitness

The Importance of Having A System
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jim, Matt, Fredson all train together.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
All different ages, different daily demands with different histories and different goals.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jim is 74, he’s beat cancer and he’s worked hard his whole life and has some aches and pains to prove it. Despite that he still trains hard 3 days/week.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Matt works in finance and cycles competitively and is always working hard to up his game on the bike while also having time for family.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fredson is world class Taewkondo athlete, small business owner and is pursuing a Strongfirst certification.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Training groups with mixed clientele can be difficult. Having an solid understanding of your core principles and an adaptable system makes it easier. Having a principle based system with adaptable methodology to achieve your intended results allows you to easily adjust to accommodate any client who comes into your gym.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In this case, I have three different power exercises being performed in the same training block by three different athletes.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jim’s history of back and knee pain doesn’t allow him to tolerate impact well so we use the shuttle so that he can jump without the negative side effects that come with repeat landings.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We’ve found that explosive step ups carry over well to Matt’s cycling and leave him feeling better than kettlebell swings.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Fredson is training for SFG so he‘s getting a steady diet of Kettlebell work daily and we’re using the swing as his main power exercise.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
In our @certifiedfsc courses we don’t only teach you how to coach these exercises but we also give you a framework for selecting exercises and making decisions. We don’t only provide you OUR system but hope to give you the tools to begin building your own to better accommodate your clients.
