Reverse Valslide Hand Walking

Advanced Anti-Extension/Rotation Exercise – Reverse Valslide Hand Walking

Right now this is one of my favorite advanced core progressions for my general population clients who have progressed beyond bodysaws, shoulder taps and stir the pot. I like that it produces a similar core stress as some of the previously mentioned exercises but with the added benefit of shoulder work from crawling.

My friend Matt makes them look easy but don’t be fooled this variation is pretty tough. Be sure to go extra slow and keep the hips as still as possible. If you struggle to keep your hips still widen the feet and focus on contracting the glutes. You should look to maintain a straight line between your head, thoracic spine and sacrum throughout the exercise.
